Hey All!
How
are all of you doing! Its been another exciting and crazy week here in
Argentina. This week has probably been one of the most fun weeks for me because
i got to go work on the temple as well as kick off the end of my week with none
other then Kev-bot Holman and B-rad!!! haha!
So
this week was kinda slow teaching wise, but we had some really cool lessons as
well some cool experiences. This last Tuesday we taught our investigator B that’s
next in line to be baptized. This last lesson she moved her baptismal date back
a little bit because she didn´t feel ready. But we only moved it back two more
weeks. She´s a super sweet gator. This last week we taught her about la palabra
de sabiduría (word of wisdom) and she committed right there to live it from
know on. Lots of people here have a problem with it because its such an
excepted way of life down here, and there’s no limits, laws, or age that promotes
you from buying alcohol, or tobacco. (haha i caught one of our recent converts
little 7 year old brother smoking cigarettes the other day, and i asked him
where he got them, and he pointed across the street at some guys store and said
¨he sold them to me¨) haha so yep pretty much the rule is if you are old enough
to communicate to someone that you want drugs or alcohol you can get them....so
it looks like I’m not old enough ;) anyways i digress, B our investigator said
she would live the word of wisdom after we taught her...well later that week,
there was a kid in our ward that saw her at a party and everyone was drinking
and getting smashed, and he asked B why she wasn´t joining in, and she said
because two elders had taught her that week that that is not the path that God
wants her to take! I thought that was pretty awesome! So we only have a couple
more lessons with her and she´ll be ready to go swimming.
Wednesday,
we walked around all day, and got rejection after rejection. I think it was my
fault because i told my comp that i didn´t care if we had a bad day or not cuz
on Thursday we were going to the temple, so...everybody sent us walking that
day :)
hahaha
but Thursday came around!!! Me and my comp woke up at 5:00 in the morning so
that we could take a train to get to an area called bonfiled where president
lives and be at his house by 7:30. When we got there president let us in and
fixed me up a nice bowl of trix cereal!!! i know trix! i was just as shocked as
you guys are...he told me they were shipped clear from America! haha! so we had
breakfast with president, and then we hopped in his nice hilux toyota and drove
off to the temple. On the way over to the temple president was telling us about
how the president in the west mission got his hilux toyota stolen while he was
still in the car...apparently some guys stuck a big gun at the president of the
west mission made him pull over, they hopped in gave him a ride back to his
house and drove off with his car. President told us that the other president
said they were really nice and that they talked about his family, and he even
placed a Book of Mormon! haha so after we got to hear a bunch of crazy insane
stories president dropped us off at the temple. I was surprised when someone
came up to me and called me Landen...it was brother hill (someone who dad works
with) and the very first thing he told me was, your dads, flight got delayed
and he´s not gonna be here...i was a little bit down, but i had a blast working
on the temple with this brother hill! He was teaching me all about design and
the art behind hanging pics and all that jazz! For lunch we went over and ate
at the mtc! It was awesome because there were tons of people being dropped off
that day...and as we were walking by an hermana that was just being dropped off
my comp said...how does it feel to know that she´ll be done with her mission
before you, and its her first day! haha i just laughed...and then sighed...:)
it was super fun getting to eat lunch with all the fresh elders in there...we
were like legends in there cuz we had actually made it out of the mtc, and into
the field.
The
next day we walked around a lot and didn´t have a whole lot of success...
So
then Saturday came rolling around as it usually does, and boy was i shocked
when i was walking down a dirt road and our phone rang, and my comp look way
shocked when he answered....he said...elder...i think its your dad calling!!!
haha and sure enough it was! Dads probably already told you, but he got
permission to take me and my comp out to dinner in capital...the nice part
of Buenos Aires!! It was so much fun to get to see him and Brad! i told dad a
couple of times, but i was completely in shock when i went to his neck of the
woods! haha to see buildings and nice cars and... side walks...it was really
crazy! Dad took me and my comp out to a pizza place...and i had the time of my
life!!! Thank you to star for the cd´s and to grandma and holly for the
letters...and dad for the new garments!!! It was so awesome to see dad, and to
be able to talk to an American...and it was nice to be able to pull out my
camera and take pictures!!!! After hanging with dad and brad, me and my comp
went back to our house to find that there’s no water...and we still don’t have
water....
Dad
the last time i went to the bathroom was when i was with you! haha i washed my
hair in a bucket today....the water was freezing! But right now i couldn’t be happier!
i got a huge thing of Reeses from star, i got new garments, i got to go to the
temple this week, and i got to give my dad a hug for the first time in 6
months!! And on top of that I’m a missionary. Its really easy to get down out
here at times...but when you remember the simple things like a family back home
that loves you and supports you, all the hard times go away. When you remember
that you´re out here fighting for truth and light, and that it’s all worth it
if you just help one person, then you can handle all the hardships! i love all
of you guys and as always i pray for you constantly! Dad i love you man, and
thank you so much for giving me the time of my life this last Saturday...that
was definitely one of the highlights of my mission!

Kori congrats for me and that i wish i could be at the wedding! Tell Taylor
he´s a lucky man to get such an awesome gal! Mom, I love you! Thanks for the
letter and the update, i loved it! You´ll be fine in that fireside, i´ve found that
when you aren´t sure what to say, that we can always open our moth and that god
will fill our mouth with the words we need as long as we are testifying of
truth and his son Jesus Christ. If you open your mouth to do this, god will
make you an instrument in his hands, the Holy Ghost will testify, and both you
and the listener will be edified. Trust in that promise that god gives us in
the D and C, all we have to do is open our mouths and god will do the rest! i
wish i could be there for the awesome fireside you´ll give...and for the river
rafting! Star thanks again for the music and the chocolate...my comp and the
zone leaders have already eaten that whole bag of reeses! Also thank chance for
the amazing letter he sent me...it hit home to me, and i read it right when i
needed it most...it was at a point where i was kind of down, and his words gave
me the strength to turn to god and get the energy i needed to keep
going....sky! dad told me your doing well, keep selling like a crazy man...and
while you’re at it, I’ll take two things of your bug control stuff!! i could
use it for my apartment...see if you can give me a good lookin’ brother
discount :) brock-your a rock, and happy birthday this upcoming week! My comp
says that he wants to wrestle you after we saw a video of chance slamming
you!!! haha be good, pray hard, and always turn to god for comfort and peace! Coleson...i
love you man! Keep doing your thang...what ever your thang is ;) haha William i
love your singing voice! i hope they choose you to be oliver! and Jaden!!!! can
you sing the ABC´s or What!!!! hahah i loved your video! Dad, again i love you,
i pray for you, and words can’t express how much it meant to me to get to see
you...i´ve been smiling more then ever since i got to give you a
hug....and to answer your question...my bladders not doing very well...i told
you it was, only cuz my comp hates hearing me complain about it....i didn´t
tell you, but i officially peed my pants this week...and i think destroyed my
bladder in the process of trying not to....it was so weird cuz i was holding it
for all i was worth, and i could just feel warmth running down my leg!!!
hahaha! i told my comp that i think my water broke! But seriously dad, you mean
the world to me! We´re best of buds and we´ll always be best of buds!!! I’m
glad you liked Argentina, and i hope your having a nice ride back in first
class right now! i love you all!!!
