very few moments that I’m happy that I’m thousands of miles away from the

haha i hope that your all doing better! ill be sure to pray that you all are
healthy this week, start drinking that apple cider vinegar!! :)
As for me this week
was a little bit harder then most, but I’m hanging in there. Lots of our
investigators were busy this week, and so we didn´t teach a whole lot, but as
always there were moments this week that the spirit touched my heart, and
caused me always have on mind the importance of my calling, and the urgency to
share the message of which we as missionaries bare.
This week we taught a
man named Victor. He was a reference from an hermana in the ward. He is going
through a hard situation right now in life. He’s going through a really bad
divorce, Filled with lawyers and heartache. And you can see it in his face, as
we talked to him, that his family meant everything to him, and now its being
torn apart. In the first moments before we teach our investigators i like to
get to know them, get a feel for who these people are and what there trials and
struggles are in life, Because i know that whatever trails we face or encounter
in this life, the gospel of Jesus Christ can help us to find the goodness and
happiness in this life. In the beginning moments i found out that he has a
child of 3 and a half years, and he means everything to him, he spoke about how
he always thought that there is something more to life as well, he wasn’t
exactly sure if there is a God out there, but he knew there was something...and
then the moments that i love come, we can testify like Amon of old to king Lamoni
that there is something more out there, that there is a God and that we are his
children. As we began to teach Victor i testified to him, that our message will
help him to find peace and comfort in his life, and that through Christ he can
be free of all the burdens that he is carrying in his life. He listened with
intent as we explained to him that because God loves us he has called prophets
in these latter days, as we shared with him the experience of a 14-year-old boy
who prayed to know the truth, the spirit touched the heart of victor. Each one
of us in the room could feel it. As we presented to him with evidence that our
message is true, the book of Mormon, he committed to read it. It was an incredible
lesson for me. After the lesson i truly didn´t want the feeling that was in my
heart to go away. I hope that we will always live our life in a way that we can
recognize the whisperings of the spirit when God speaks to us. It is the greatest
of highs that one can have in this life, and i love that as a missionary i get
to feel that spirit daily. I hope that each of you are always striving to have
that spirit with you...
As we work
diligently to have the spirit in our lives God will bless us, and we can do miracles
in Christ’s name, we can help those that are searching for truth and light in
there journey here on earth. I had a moment this week where the spirit helped
me be an instrument in Gods hands. This past Wednesday we clapped the house of
an investigator that we were teaching, and she left her house and looked panicked...she
looked pail white, and had obviously been crying. As she began to explain what
had happened she broke into tears. She began to express that her son had been in
an accident. She expressed that her 15 year old boy was in a car wreck and that
in the accident it broke his liver, and he had lost over 1Leter of blood, and
had entered into a coma. He was in the hospital in a room that only doctors
were aloud in. She began to cry hysterically as she expressed her terror that
he might not make it through the night that she might not get to be with her
son again. As she feared for the worst i told her that there is something that
we can do for her, We explained to her that we are literally representatives of
Jesus Christ, and that we have been endowed with the same power in which he
holds, we placed our hands on her head and i bestowed a blessing to her. As I
gave the blessing the spirit spoke to me, and calmed her troubled soul. As we
walked out of the house she hugged me (haha yep awkward for me) and said God
bless you boys. Yesterday i fasted for her son, and have been praying fervently
for him. As i gave her the blessing i remember that she stopped her crying, and
began to have hope. The spirit will always calm our troubled soul. If we live
to have him with us, the burdens that life throws at us are bearable. I learned
a valuable lesson this week that we can not afford to not have him with us. If
we strive to be worthy, and don’t walk with the world, we will have him with
us.
Well there’s a little
bit of what went down in my week, I don’t’ know what’s been going on exactly,
or how it happened, but I have come to the conclusion, that the most important
thing that there is in this life is to try and live a Christ centered life. The
Great Christian paradox is true, that when we loose our lives in Christ, we
find our life. Its happening to me, and I’m so grateful to my father in heaven
for the opportunity that i have to be a missionary, and bring to the world a
message of hope and good will, even a message of Christ.
Haha i love you guys
so much, Star thanks for the pics and videos! William i can’t believe that you
got swirled!!! haha i loved that video! And that’s sweet that your doing karate
dude! I went to a gym this last Monday for p-day where they teach karate and
boxing. We have a member that’s less active in the ward that taught us how to
box!!! It was super sweet.... until i got it in my head that i was pretty good
at it....haha i made him a deal, i told him that i would enter the ring with
him and fight him, and if i won that he would have to go to church this Sunday....he
accepted! Everyone in the gym gathered around the ring to watch the
fight...needless to say the 1 round of one minute was the longest minute of my
life...in the first 10 seconds I’m pretty sure he almost broke my nose....haha
still hurts...i’m not gonna tell you who won or lost but lets just say he didn’t
go to church yesterday!!!
Hahah i love you guys,
i gotta wright my president still so I’m gonna be on for a bit, so feel free to
shoot me an email! Remember to live your lives so you can have the holy ghost
with you! You’re all in my prayers! And make it a good week!!
Love,
Elder Holman
