Time is Flying by...

Hey Family,

Thanks for all your emails, they always make p-day so much fun to see what you’re all up to and what you’re doing!

This week was a super fun week and went bay so incredibly fast, i can hardly believe how fast the weeks go by, even the months are just flying by faster then i like, i cant believe that October is almost over...before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving (for you guys) Christmas and then...well we won’t think about that just quite yet.

This past week we had my first zone meeting that me and my comp taught, our zone is called Monte Grande A, we have about 7 companionship's that were over, its pretty fun, helping the zone out with all there questions, and helping them discover ways that they can work more effectively as missionaries, we got the zone pretty pumped on missionary work, so will see if they improve, its pretty fun... And as for me and my comp, we are destroying are area...in a good way :)

This past week we found over 11 new investigators to teach, I don’t know exactly why we found so many, but all i do know is that the lord is blessing me and my comp so much. This past week there were many touching and moving lessons that we taught, but one of them that sticks out is one that we had with a man named Marcelo.

Marcelo is a single man that lives with his mother, he lives with her so that he can take care of her, she is about 80 and in a wheelchair and depends directly on him to take care of her. This past Wednesday a less active member that they were friends with went over to their house to work on cleaning the nails of Marcelo’s mom, and as they were talking the topic of religion came in, Marcelo explained to this less active member that he has been searching for a religion his whole entire life, he has been part of many religions before, but came to the conclusion that the true church of God was no longer on the earth, and so he stopped searching, but later he explained to us that he still always said his prayers and read his bible, and would pray that he would know the truth when and if he received it. Well as they started to discuss religion, the member instantly gave us a call and said, i got someone for you to teach, now. So me and my comp hurried on over to the house and began to explain to Marcelo a little bit of our purpose as missionaries, and we explained to him that we were here to help him come unto Christ. As we began to explain the message of the restored gospel, Marcelo had so many questions, and what shocked him even more, is that two 21-year-old boys had the answers that he had searched a lifetime for.

He understood that after Christ came and the people rejected him, that the truth was taken from the earth, and that man had made their own churches to make up for the lack of direction in their lives... as we began to explain to him about a 14 year old boy that went into a grove of trees to pray, a familiar spirit filled that room, He listened so carefully and intently. He was shocked to hear that through this modern day prophet, ancient scriptures had been restored to the earth, and he was so excited to read the book and ask God in the name of Christ if it was true. Towards the end of the lesson he explained to us, that it was not an accident that we were there, that God had truly heard and had finally answered his prayers, he then explained that after a lifetime of searching for the truth, that he had learned more about how to follow Christ, just by speaking to two young boys. He thanked us profoundly for leaving our lives behind, our families and countries behind to share with him our message. And as we left he said to us "I have made huge progress in my personal search for truth today"

As i stepped away from that lesson, it once again hit me the importance of our message. There are those that are searching for goodness, truth, and light in the world. There are those that are searching for peace, happiness, or a way to free themselves of guilt they carry, or a past life...We as members of this church know that through the message of the restored gospel, we can find rest in there journey, we can find peace hope and light through the savior Jesus Christ, so it is are responsibility to share it with the world. Doctrine and covenants states there are those "who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it"

13 Therefore, that we should waste and awear out our lives in bringing to light all the bhidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven— 14 These should then be attended to with great aearnestness. 15 Let no man count them as small things; for there is much which lieth in futurity, pertaining to the saints, which depends upon these things. 16 You know, brethren, that a very large ship is abenefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves. 17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us acheerfully bdo all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the csalvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.

I hope that we all realize that we must be a witness of Christ at all times and in all places, and share with the world the message of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

I love my savior so much, I know that i will never be able to repay him for all that he has done for me, and because i know that i can never repay the debt that he has paid for me, i will forever be his servant, my soul is his, and i will forever be changed because of it. I want my family, friends (and whoever else that reads this) to know, that i know, that this is the church of Jesus Christ, that Joseph Smith was and is who he said he was,  a Prophet to the most high God, and that this work, is one of the most important works on the face of the earth. I have learned all this and more from my mission. My mission changed the person that i am and the person that i want to be, i hope that all my brothers choose to live worthy lives so that they can serve a mission. God has given me no greater gift than the mission, and i know that if we learn to serve God now, our lives will forever be changed because of it. Learn to be a missionary now little brothers :)

Well, i got a bunch of emails that i got to take care of from the mission now, so i got to run, but i love you all so much, feel free to write me if you happen to be on, cuz i should be on for a good 20 more minutes :)

Love you all so much, you’re all in my prayers, and i know that Gods watching over you all, much love!!!

Elder Holman
