hey hey family!!
Thanks so much for the emails! It sounds like sabado fue una día de exito!!! Saturday was a success!! I’m so glad to hear that everything went smoothly and that you all had a wonderful time!! i was missing you all a lot that day...haha but i tried not to think about it to much!!! Wow and star and chance are in Puerto Rico!!! i wanna go so bad! Put my Spanish to the test!! Thanks for sending a bunch of photos sky! I loved seeing them, i almost felt like i was in cool refreshing Utah instead of armpit sweat hot Argentina!!! haha! Loved the pictures of Jaden too! He seems like a goof ball, in a good way! :) And thanks mom and dad and brock for sending me an email as well. It meant a bunch! Brock i think you made the right choice to go to your sisters wedding rather then the school dance haha!! Dad the house looked amazing! And props to mom for getting everything ready!!! woot woot! And dad you were right, i had no idea that that was out garage! bien hecho!!! Wish star and chance the best for me off in Puerto Rico!!
Well my week is gonna sound really boring after hearing about your guys week! haha i did the same thing i did every week!
This week actually went by really quick, i just hit the all time record for lessons taught in my area for the week! We had over 10 lessons with a member 5 other lessons and a lot more, the ward mission leader and i prepared an activity in a fariada this last Saturday morning..i don’t know how to say fariada in English...its like a bunch of little stands...but we had lots of success singing Christmas songs and talking about the gospel with a bunch of people...haha also my Saturday, i was thinking of you all...i kinda had some batter problems that day...lets just say i ate some street meet from some random guy on Friday...haha some guy was selling it on the street pretty ghetto...but i bought a churi...its pretty much every part of a cow rapped up in cow intestines....not bad...but what was bad was the Saturday after...yesterday was awful...i don’t think I’ve ever been so close to pooping my pants...its a long story that i don’t have time to tell… hahaha that was the highlight of my Saturday! ;)
Now that I’ve all grossed you out, by my café rió stories, on to the week!!
This week went by really well, and extremely fast, i feel like i was just in the cyber writing you guys for last week. i had lots of interesting and learning experiences, but there’s one I’d like to share with you. Me and my comp found ourselves in one random ladies house in Argentina, she gave us lunch, and afterwards i insisted on sharing our message with her...both her and my comp weren´t to fond of the idea, but we began to chat...she started to dive into life stories and all of her huge problems she has in her life. i asked her if she thought that god could heal her and change her life around...she thought about it for a second, and to my surprise said no...she said I’ve tried and I’ve prayed, and sometimes i wonder if God is even there....she had had faith at one point in her life, but "never really received an answer that god was there"....
In the book of Acts Ch 9. we find the remarkable story of Saul. Saul was a wicked man he seeked to destroy the church and to cast into prison anyone who believed in the son Jesus Christ. One day he journeyed on the road to Damascus.
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a alight from heaven:4 And he afell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, bSaul, Saul, why persecutes thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I ama Jesus
There are some that feel that unless they have an experience like Sauls they cant not believe. They feel that if the lord hasn´t appeared to them in the body, that he doesn’t hear our prayers, that he isn´t there. Instead of taking small steps in the path to discipleship by faith and hope to have a knowledge of our savior, they want an experience like Saul.
In my time out here on the mission i have found so many people that are like this, if they don’t have a miracle in their life, they don’t believe.
I thought about that lady a lot this week, that i had lunch with, she really didn’t want to listen to me, or what i had to say to her, but i began to think about how i have gained a knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel, and no i didn’t have an experience like Sauls...in fact mine was completely opposite. i received my testimony and knowledge that God lives through doing three things. Reading, praying and going to church. By doing these things I have received a witness that God lives and that Christ is his son through the Holy Ghost. It’s so simple yet people will not listen. Throughout the week i challenged myself to pay attention to my feeling while i was reading praying and going to church. During each one of these activities i felt such a calm and peace...and sometimes i felt the very love of god. I received another witness this week much like Sauls...that God lives and that Jesus is the Christ. It’s through doing the simple things like, prayer that we will receive our answers that God lives. I challenge you guys this week to truly listen to the spirit when you are reading, praying, and going to church. It’s after doing these small things, that we can have an experience like unto Sauls...and after we have that experience we will forever be changed, as was Saul into Paul.
Well yep that’s all, sorry i don’t have a whole lot to report on! I’m glad everyone is doing well at home and that the wedding was a success! i love you all and miss you! i pray for you constantly!!! The lord is with you. And i pray that we can do the small and simple things to know that he is with us, and that Jesus Christ really is our brother savior, and king!!!
