Dec. 31 - Whitewashing baby!

What’s up Holman clan!!

It might as well be snowing down here in Argentina, because I’m whitewashing baby!!!! whoot whoo!!! My mission, go to gutieras quilmes to share the gospel...my partner in crime elder Dos Santos (two saints) from Brazil!!! Our purpose- invite others to come unto Christ through the restored gospel. Am i getting ahead of myself? Yes, yes i am. I’ll rewind and start explaining when we last spoke...

Man it was so good to speak to you guys! You all sound like your doing well and it was so good to hear all of your voices! i wish that i had had more time to speak. i was the very last one to use the computer, and everybody was waiting on me because we were speaking past 10:00, but i was super grateful to get to see and talk to all of you! I felt bad cuz i barely talked with Jaden, William, Coleson and Brock!!! i hope they’re all doing well!

I remember the day after Christmas was super hard, i was just thinking of you guys and the call all day. It was super hard to get it into gear and work hard, and even harder to get my comp in gear and get him working to, but i survived and hear i am again writing you all.

So this last Saturday we received transfer calls! I got assigned to my new area baby, the assistant to the president called and said that I’d be whitewashing in the area of Gutieres! A white wash is when neither you or your companion is familiar with the area, you just come in the area not knowing a soul...not knowing where your pench is...not knowing any member and just having to figure it out. They told me the area had been closed for 8 months and if i was to work my but off i could have a baptism a week...and that’s what i plan to do! They told me my comps name was Fleximan Dos Santos de Brasil as well!!! ahhh i was so happy to finally be leaving the area i was in!!!

On Sunday we have a meeting with the ward leaders in something called consejo de barrio...or sometimes i call it consejo de Boring-O. Anyways my bishop asked if one of us were going and i told them that i had gotten the transfer call last night, the bishop said perfect, well be sure to have you bear your testimony today in sacrament meeting...well after the meeting with the ward leaders the first councilor to the bishop came up to me and asked me to not just bare my testimony, but to speak for 15 minutes!!! haha this was literally 3 minutes before the sacrament meeting started, i told him yes, but honestly i was freaking out. i hadn´t prepared anything and they wanted me to speak in Spanish for 15 minutes!!!! Yikes, i cant even do that in English!

Well i remember saying a prayer, and i felt the smallest feeling of peace, and then the miracle took place, the spirit confirmed to me that if i would allow God, that he would speak through me for the 15 minutes. i was hit with a perfect peace and my nerves went away. Well i remember i talked on what it meant to be truly converted, but i also don’t remember a word i said, but i remember as i was up there speaking to the whole ward, thought after thought, scripture after scripture, word after word just appeared into my mind, everything i needed to say was just simply given to me, i even remember the bishop giving me the kick of your 15 minutes are up, and i still had more to say and share! It was incredible. I remember after the meeting a lady came up to me, and told me that she had felt the spirit so strong in my talk, she told me that i had inspired her to share the gospel with a close friend of hers that she had always wanted to share the gospel with but was just afraid to do so.

I don’t think I’ll ever forget the experience that i had yesterday, when god literally spoke through me, and he said exactly what the people in my ward needed to hear, it was incredible.
Well after a long night of packing and saying by to families, i went to Bonfield to have transfer meetings. i met my comp...who i can barely understand, apparently he wasn’t as excited to be white washing. He had to go talk to president after the meeting cuz i guess he’s having some problems right now, but I’m planning to help him through them and am planning to have a life changing time in this next area.... sky remember how you told me that speaking Portuguese is like speaking Spanish with marbles in your mouth!!! It still sounds like my comp has marbles in his mouth i cant understand a thing!!!

After we left the mission home, the mission hired some guy to drive us to our next area! It’s so far out of existence that the trains don’t even go that far! The guy that drove us around his name is Charles, he is a convert of the church and he speaks 5 languages, and he is as black as the night straight out of Africa!!! haha we drove around  since 11 this morning looking for our new area! It took us about 6 hours to find it. Once we got there we only had the name of the bishop and his direction. We got there and he showed us our pench, and we came straight to the ceber!!! That’s been my day whoooo! And we don’t have any maps no cell phone, no numbers to call the mission nothing. We are literally in the middle of nowhere, and im expected to work tomorrow!!! oh and did i mention i cant understand my comp either...this is gonna be a fun one! I’m sure I’ll be doing lots of praying...keep me in your prayers!!! For new years im probably gonna unpack my stuff and go to sleep! We’re not allowed to work tonight cuz of the holiday...and its a good thing to cuz i have no idea where to even start! So ill start tmrw!

Well i love you guys i hope your doing well, and have a wonderful new years!!! You are all in my prayers, and yes im already looking forward to the next time iget to call you guys!!! i love you all, keep me in your prayers this week, cuz im gonna need it!

Yours truely
Elder Holman (the whitewasher!!!)
