Merry Christmas - Dec. 23, 2013

Hey HEy Hey, Merry Fishmes!!! hahaha

What’s up Holman family? How all you guys doing? Merry Christmas in a couple of days! i hope its nice and cold cuz its still nice and HOT here in Argentina! I’m currently sitting in 115 degree weather writing you guys! haha and i just got off a train that was completely packed with sweaty people all up in my grill.

Today we went to the mission home to have a Christmas bbq. It was awesome. We organized to get the whole zone together on the same train, and as we headed out on the train to banfield we sang Christmas carols to everyone. It was really awesome! Lots of people pulled their phone out and started filming us. You could really feel the spirit. All the people on the train with a billion things to do and a billion things on their mind stopped for a second in their busy day and listened to carols about Christ. The smiles on their faces was priceless. I’ll never forget how all the little children looked at us with a complete "aww" on their face. I hope that all of you can take that small moment, drop all that your doing and think about our savior Christ the Lord for a small moment. Sometimes we get so caught up in buying gifts for everyone and being sure that everything is perfect for the big day, that we entirely miss the meaning of why we have the celebration at all. I hope that you all can stop what your doing and think of all that Christ has done for you. I know that if you do, you will feel the spirit, not only the spirit of navidad but the holy ghost testifying that Christ is our savior.

So this week was a good one. We along with the whole zone are planning on having our big super baptism this week. It’s scheduled for this Saturday so we´ll have to see how it goes. We have about ten investigators in the zone that are looking like they might make it. One of those investigators is Silvia. I don’t know if i have told you about her, but we have been teaching her for some time know. She had heard all of the lessons that the elders had to teach, and so me and my companion sat down and planned on how we could teach Silvia effectively, and with the spirit so that she can know that our message is true. We felt inspired to teach her about the book of Mormon and how she can receive an answer that it is true. We talked a lot about the Prophet Enos and how he wanted to receive an answer to his prayers. We invited her to carefully read the book of Mormon, meditate on the message that the chapter has and then to ask God the Eternal father if it is true. Later in the week we sat down with her and asked her if she had done it. She seemed so happy to tell us, she said, yes elders i did it, and Guess what it works!!! She said that she had gotten a response that it was true. She told us that she was so shocked when she prayed and felt the spirit testify to her that it’s true. It was another testimony builder to me, that God truly does hear our prayers and that he does speak with his children. After she had told us that she believed that it was true we explained a little bit to her that it meant that she needed to be baptized again to follow Christ. She told us that she would pray about the 28th to see if she should be baptized.

It was a cool experience. Pray for her that she can make it, and that she will feel right about being baptized on the 28th!!

haha and well for this Wednesday I’m kinda thinking ill call you guys around 2:00 your time, is that okay? It’s going to be 6:00 for me. I don’t think i can really call any later then that, cuz the streets are going to be getting kinda crazy. Is that oaky if i call you then 2:00 Your time? I hope so.

Well i gotta run, but i want you guys to know that i love you!! Have a wonderful 23,and 24 and i guess we’ll be talking for the 25th! I love you all, and pray for you guys nightly.

Love you much, and Merry Fishmes.
Elder Holman
